Before deciding which driving school to use, consider the following:
·Cheapest hourly rate is NOT necessarily the cheapest overall cost when learning to drive. DSA research has shown that, on average, a novice learner will require 45+ of professional driving lessons plus 22hours of private practice to pass their driving test. This will of course be dependent on the learner's driving aptitude. Some will require more, some less.
·Does the driving school give YOU a FULL HOUR lesson? Be aware of 'piggy backing' (where one student picks up another and then is dropped off by the new student)
·Will your lesson be spent driving or spent predominantly stationary by the roadside? Be aware of very cheap hourly rates, as 'stationary' lessons will cost less to the driving school hence less to the student!!! .... p.s. there will of course be times where stationary stops are necessary to explain things to student before moving on but these should be no longer than a few minutes at the most.
